Why Diversity?

We live in a society where everyone is different from one another. Roughly 6,500 languages are spoken and 4,300 religions are practiced in the world today.  Each and every one of them make the world a diverse and beautiful place to live.

On one hand the world is celebrating The PRIDE month while on the other hand people make fun and pass jokes based on differences in orientation.

People call themselves as feminists but when the need arises they bend the rules as per their own convenience and women are again denied their rights.

People say that the skin does not matter but they later search for products that make their skin “fairer” and more “acceptable”.

The moment we see somone different from us, we start to judge them, their religion, their culture and the place they come from and by the end of the day, we crave for similarity.

Imagine a world with one religion, one language, one culture, one colour and only one choice. Isn’t this quite a definition of hell?

How much more time is needed for acceptance? Stereotypes have always existed and they still do. Sharing one post on social media to follow the trend would NOT a make a difference. Supporting those people with whole of your heart will.

Ignorance is not a solution for inequality, acceptance is.

I accept the differences. Do you?

Happy Pride Month.

  1. “Imagine a world with one religion, one language, one culture, one colour and only one choice. Isn’t this quite a definition of hell?” Such an important point. Would be crazy if it was just one size fits all for everything, wonder then why people tolerance is so hard.

  2. A good one Khushi, tolerance and acceptance are the bare minimum requirements from the world. This resonates with a lovely Ted talk I listened to yesterday – being a professional troublemaker. You might enjoy it 🙂 and is in similar lines about standing up for what you truly believe in
