I still remember those nights,
When you taught me what’s wrong and what’s right.
I still remember that picnic spot,
When we laughed out loud and drank Scotch.
I still remember those PTM days,
When you scolded the teacher instead no matter whatever she said,
I would never wash the dishes or clean the house,
But would help pa to catch that fat mouse.
You both promised you would stay,
At least see me walking down the aisle making my way.
I didn’t know it was a lie
You left even without saying a good bye.
I promise I’ll be a good child,
Can you please come back, may be just for a while?
I wanna hug you for the last time,
I wish, I could tell you, how much I adore you for just one last time…
~Khushi Garg
This poem is really close to me. It’s not about my personal life but it’s about one of my friends who lost her parents just before the pandemic. We lost contact before that and I got the information about the demise, during lockdown via instagram, almost half a year later. Even I, was heart broken. It aches to even think about it.
I have got blind respect for her, she’s strong.. really strong, and she holds a special place in my life. We don’t talk much, it’s not that we aren’t on talking terms, it’s just that our paths are different and I once crossed her on social media..
We used to hang out together after classes and it was fun, apparently she was the only one who wouldn’t judge me for my stupidity. (though I judged her for not getting irritated with me, ’cause God!! you really can’t stand someone like ME!😅🤔)
I really wanna catch up with her again but then she might have changed alot .. I don’t know.. may be.. but I surely will, whenever I get a chance to, because I don’t want regrets about it later on.
A lot of people are an inspiration for me and she’s definitely one of them.
"Here's to the ones that we got,
Cheers to the wish you were here, but you're not,
'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories,
Of everything we've been through.
Toast to the ones here today
Toast to the ones that we lost on the way
'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
And the memories bring back, memories bring back you..."

So what inspires you the most to write this kind of stuff?

It’s about the experiences, like I wrote this one when I got the information(about demise). My life experiences are a major inspiration, sometimes it’s a book I read or even a song.

Ohh I see,
Experience teaches us so many things, it never fails to encourage us towards our ultimate goal, isn’t it?😅
